Did you say Central Standard Time on purpose because I AM ON CST AND EAT TOO LATE AND I LOVE STEAK & SHAKE AND I'M FAT?

I'm a New England girl - I've never even HEARD of Steak & Shake (but am well acquainted with Ben and his buddy, Jerry...)
As a midwesterner up here in New England, there are many things I like about this area (its politics, its natural beauty, its people, its history, etc.).
However, one thing I most assuredly do NOT like about my immediate area is the lack of Steak 'n' Shake. Or Waffle House. Or IHOP. Or Denny's.
I shouldn't have to drive 75 minutes to find a 24-hour place that isn't Dunkin' Donuts or a McDonald's drive-thru.
It's not like I want this every night, or most nights, or even weekly. But when I want thin fries or French toast or a Grand Slam or hash browns scattered, covered and smothered at 3am, it's pretty much the most important thing in the world.

We went to S & S for dinner the other night and ordered Choco Shakes and Malts and the VERY BERRY COBBLER for dinner. Well the Surgeon General did say we need more servings of fruit.

*sniffs* I tell my husband every few days or so how much I want a patty melt from there. And a chocolate/banana shake. I miss it so! And then you remind me again. *sighs* I think he gets sick of hearing me whine about missing it, but then I moved up here to be married to him, so it's fair play, right?
Ohhhhh...I miss Steak 'N Shake. Perfect Fries. Chili Macs. There's nothing like it in CA 
We ate at Steak & Shake Wednesday when we were in Dallas. Patty Melt, fries, and a mint chocolate milkshake. I cannot go there without thinking of you! I wish that we had one closer to Candyland now. Mmmmm.
