Down in these here parts of the south, I have only heard one or two people be excited over HP -- it's amazing that there is that much excitement over it!

Cathy should have been at Borders today! There were dozens of people in line to buy their copy! I should have gone at midnight, since I couldn't go to sleep until 3 am anyway, but I waited until this morning. Borders said they would hold my copy until noon, so I went at 11am. I sat in the car and read 30 pages, but I got so warm that sleep overtook me! I had to go home and nap before I could read any more of it.
"Champing" is known here!
Have a good trip to see the family. When I finish the book, it goes to my daughter's seen kids so they can have a second copy.

The Chili copy arrived via post this morning. We're waiting for the Red Sox game to be over so we can all read it aloud to one another.

I bought three copies today ( abot 3:30 pm ), at our local Costco for some $18.00 and change each. One for my lovely wife, one for my older son and one for my youngest son. I myself have not read a single Harry Potter book, or seen any Harry Potter movies. Maybe someday.
I 'AM' looking forward to the next Raiders of the Lost Ark movie, which is now in production.
Mamacita, Enjoy your new book !

I'm glad to see you champing at the bit around our old stamping ground.

(who is 10 chapters into Half-Blood Prince; Jawa Girl is currently buried in Deathly Hallows. My goal is to read the first six books and watch the first four movies by Tuesday, when we go to see the fifth movie. Almost there - most of one book and two movies to go.)

I think I may be the only person on earth who hasn't read any of the Potter Books, or sewen the films! Well...what can I say...Something about them just doesn't interest me...LOL!
I'm happy for you my dear and I think it took great restraint to not say one word about how it all ends!
Have a Lovely Sunday!

I live in a small town (pop. less than 10 thousand). A small used bookstore is struggling. The previous owner rarely added major selections, had irregular hours, half the place was full of _old_ romance novels. The new owners are doing everything they can to promote Harry Potter week. There were thirty of us in line at midnight at the store. As I said "I'd rather give you my money than Walmart or Amazon."

Yes, indeed, it is "champing at the bit." Thank you for being the one in about 10 million who gets it right!

My husband and I each got a copy and sat on the porch and read until it was too cold and then we went in (11:30 pm). I finished at 2:45 and he at 6:00 am.
Curses to those CVS stores. I can't believe they did that!

I was able to wait for mine to come from Amazon in Saturday's mail (my brother is kind enough to share his Prime account with me). I purposely read a bit more slowly than usual (well, except maybe the last 200 pages) to stretch it out. I made it Sunday evening about 5:15. Now I'm waiting for my Canadian edition to come, and I think I'll read that one.
