Gravatar How can we improve on this Keda, you've said it all too well again! Let me ask you, do you think Bush would have the attention span to actually play scrabble?

Lovely flowers, is that a little bicycle with your flower basket? Cute!

Gravatar Billy always does this so well.

Oh OK, I'll load an mp3 too.

agitprop is still needed.

rashbre

Gravatar I have thought about sending them all off to the same island (uninhabited of course), but letting them play scrabble is even better. Another blogger also suggested that some politicians aren't getting laid enough. That's definitely the root of the problem.

Gravatar You are right about blogger being your voice, I mean look at the fact that you got quoted...
Plus I read somewhere that the government is reading blogs to "watch" people, so unless they are stupid (ha!), it should also mean that they are able to get an idea of social climate from blogs too (one would think) and therefore, since blogging your opinions is expressing your voice, you are also creating the potential for change. We can only hope. If we all got together and sang the songs?
The floralets are looking darling on their bikes. I love the contrast of words and images..

Gravatar Edwyn Collins from Glasgow I believe. Congrats on the fame.

Blair might enjoy being in a rock band again.

To me Bush doesn't really count as a politician, he's a stooge. And the country that elected him has to bear some of the responsibility. I would love to take him on at Scrabble.

I have no talent for songs, have you tried hotboy? When he's not ranting he can usually squeeze some humour out of anything.

Nice bikelets.

Gravatar ooh everybody PLEASE listen to the mp3 rashbre uploaded. i love me some billy bragg and this is just amazing.

Gravatar im very impressed someone was impressed by what you wrote and quoted you.. thats pretty darn bloody cool!

And your songs are pretty darn bloody cool too! Love the girls on the bikes, flower power hits the streets to bring back some luuuurve...:P

*hugs hugs* I'll go listen to the Mp3 now!

Gravatar Your post is impressive Keda. You keep your heart on the pulse of all the things wrong with the world and have a great way of bringing it up in unique ways...and making the rest of us think about it!

Your 'lets and flowers in the photos are gorgeous!

Gravatar Great write (and write-up) Keda!

I have often reminded my american friends that the price of freedom is vigilance... and it's evident that everybody suffers from the lack of it.

Gravatar you've said it excellently keda. I too can't understand why this world is at the mercy of war mongering idiots. It was bad enough when Bush got re-elected and dragged out the destruction in Iraq, but now, this war in the Mideast, it's just terrible. The pictures of the injured children is what hurts me the most, why must innocent civilians suffer like this? I think the leaders of these countries should get together in a room and have a death match amongst themselves, and spare the rest of us who just want to live a good life and raise our kids in a safe world.

Gravatar neat protest songs! but you don't want me adding my voice into the mix, when my daughter was about 3 and we were in church and I was holding her and singing, she said, "Daddy, you don't sing very well!"

While I was gone, I only read two newspapers (in 10 days), when I came back, it seemed the whole world had gone to hell. So instead of writing stuff political and trying to make sense of it, or fun of it, I'm sticking to canoeing/fishing stories for the time being

Gravatar coming here i am never disappointed. how on earth do you do that?

how 'bout this?

hey bush, ya
put your peepee iiin
take your peepee out
ya put your peepee in
and ya shake it all about
you need to makey makey
lots more lovey lovey
that's what it's all about!

Gravatar Whao! That went at quite a lick! Hotboy

Gravatar Some of the neo-conservatives in Washington are now talking about bombing Iran, which is not just hugely irresponsible, but also overlooks the fact that they've conveniently placed over 100,000 American sitting ducks right next door in Iraq. America, you've lost the plot. If you don't ditch these infantile fantasists, preferably before the next election, we're all history.

Gravatar Keep 'em coming Keda. Here's one from the Swamps o' Jersey

To the tune of The Beatles'Penny Lane:

TONY BLAIR:

Tony Blair, he has to suck up to an idiot,
He has to kowtow to a fourth rate oil man
Who says, “The next in line should be I-ran,
Rite after Lebby-nan”

. . .Whatever, man.

Tony Blair, trapped in a world he never made!
Morally corrupt and over paid
Keep smiling, (meanwhile back…)

Behind the table at a luncheon with the Superpowers
The boss yells, “Yo!” and Tony jumps up to his side
Perhaps he looks a little bit uptight
As he turns off the mic,
(Bloody right.)

Tony Blair, trapped in a world he never made!
Morally corrupt and over paid
Keep smiling, meanwhile back…

Addressing Parliament the PM tends to take it hard
And in his pocked is a portrait of the queen
But in Bush’s pocket we have seen
Quite another thing…
(help me sing!)

Tony Blair, trapped in a world he never made
Etc.

It almost hurts to make jokes, don't it. I'm quite sick of it all. Great post. And those photos! Nice counterpoint.

Gravatar Ahh, now I almost feel bad. Let's place the emphasis on "trapped in a world he never made." Morally corrupt is a relative term, really, and Blair was down with Kofi Annan calling for a ceasefire in Lebanon, wasn't he?

Alright, now I feel better.

Gravatar It's all Bollocks, Sorry as constuctive as I can be given:

http://today.reuters.com/news/ne...-C3-worldNews- 2

Hope the next Gen is mofre forgiving.

Gravatar rick sweetie.. brilliant.

but blair deserves all our contempt. sadly he was NOT along side kofi annan. he is still hiding behind that fuckwit bush.
and we brits are desperately signing petitions and emailing left right
and centre trying to get the arsewipe to DO sOMETHING!

so i loved your song. but he did help create the world we are trapped
in. and as for moral corruption, i wrote something along those lines
to him just last night

thanks for the songs babes. much appreciated.
keep em coming

Gravatar I think the problem with speaking out or demonstrating is that we too often become blinded to other people's opinions not matching our own. One thing that should always be respected no matter what, is someone's right to have their opinion. I'm all for changing the world but I will not hate those that choose not to follow what I believe. I have my opinions and often I like to voice them but somehow I still manage to respect those that don't agree with me. That...is becoming more and more rare. I sit in an office every day where I'm afraid to voice my opinion whatever it may be because there are too many watchful eyes and listening ears too eager to condemn me for my beliefs. Too often it becomes less about what we believe and more about how we conform. I hate conformity.

Ok...no more preaching from me.

Gravatar سلام

Gravatar I just thought of this one after looking at pics of Lindsay Lohan:

hey ho
it's time for Bush to go
hey ho
stop snorting blow
hey ho
we said NO!
hey ho
it's time for Bush to go

Gravatar For all the protesting the stinky hippies did in the sixties, they sure as hell left a lasting legacy. At least they yelped for a while.

Sadly, other than Billy Bloke, protest singin' is a lost art form...

Gravatar Holy crap Keda, some of those messages are awesome! I think robmcj summed it up for me, I can't get out of this country fast enough!

It's absolutely killing me, your headline is a take from a lyric. I know the song (have it on cassette somewhere - a dub) but can't place the singer. I believe the lyric is "Too many porter singers, not enough porter songs." right? help me out a bit... Who is the singer?

Gravatar I don't agree 100% politically but I wanted to say how cute the cyclets are. The clonies are weanies when it comes to their bicycles, good thing their feet work.
