A wonderful, thoughtful tribute. You really brought something of yourself to this project, which I think is the point. Interesting about the coincidences around the name Eric. It’s the kind of thing that directs you. Your tribute is a positive beam through all the sorrow, remembrance, and realization of September 11, Keda. Thanks. I’ll think about Eric.

Keda,
Well, your moving tribute to Eric quite rightly sent me back to do a much better job on mine.
I also went through the kind of day that gave me a little better perspective. As it went on, I found myself dwelling on a thought expressed by your exemplary countryman, David Bowie: "I never thought I'd need so many people."

Hey Keda,
Thanks for your thoughtful words on this young man who had so much to give. It sounds like his memory will live on for a long time with his family and friends, but it is nice that others can read his story.
He would have been pleased to know that he touched others long after he was gone.
P.S. double thanks for the Adam Ant post below. I loved the link to his YouTube videos. Dirk Wears White Socks was one of my favorite albums.

It's always hard to explain death to a small child. My son was just a 1 year old on 9/11. I told him that a lot of new angels had arrived in heaven today.

This is a very lovely monday memory and a tribute as well.
Visiting sites with tribute makes my heart bleed for all the victims and brings tears to my eyes as I recall all these young people losing their lives to something beyond their control. These cruel people who caused the tragedy just didn't care about these innocent lives, lives with yet unfulfilled dreams, lives who may have been depended upon by their loved ones. My sympathy goes to all the victims' family of these Sept. 11/2001 tragedy. My heart will always have a special place for all of them.
Thanks for visiting.

Wow. My goose bumps are casting shadows across my arms. To me? the most important of all things is to help our children realize that there are names attatched to those victims of this day, and to have those humans residing in our hears for always. You've done so, and beautifully. thank you.

I'm thinking, "what a sham". That's right, not shame but sham that you, who oppose holding those Islamic fundamentalists responsible for Eric's death are paying tribute to him.
You are connected by ether? Or have you been inhaling it? I was there, about 1 mile away when Eric and a few thousand others died. Eric wouldn't want you posting comments that his country went to war "hiding behind terrrorism", as you put it in looseleafnotes.com. He would be angry and proud of his country, and he needs his family and fellow countrymen, not foreigners "connected by ether" to pay tribute.
And by the way, I also have twin children, and I will not rear them to be self-absorbed, unpatriotic, transient humans without values.

My God, Keda. That was beautiful, thoughtful, eloquent and heartfelt. I am in tears now as well. I am reminded of my first visit to Compassionate Friends, a support group for parents whose children have died. When I walked into the room, the collective sadness was palpable. A man came up to me and embraced me, saying, "Welcome to the club noone wants to belong to."
Hugs to you and the twins.

I ask myself, when will the world learn to value human lives, when will we learn to feel real empathy towards each other?
Thank you for introducing Eric to me. I feel that any remembrance on September 11 should focus on the lives lost on that day, nothing else.
