What's truly sad is that you (and most non-Americans) have got a better grasp of our politics and issues than most of the voting public over here. And THAT'S truly scary...

Its all run by the puppetmasters anyway. Look at Bush, Palin & co and follow the strings through the shadows and cigar smoke back to big bizzo.
The spin to win by picking a Hilary factor to run alongside McCain is awesome. The redneck analogies and the feisty talk are amazing in that they are so successful.
Glad to see you are on form!

Sarah Palin advocates the teaching of Creationism in the science classroom. Her position on this is ignorant, destructive and regresses human progress by at least 80 years.
Perhaps Barack can't say it, but I can. You can put lipstick on a fucking idiot, but they're still...you know...a bad choice for a vice-presidential candidate...and a fucking idiot.

I've been lurking on your blog for some time, love it, such honesty. I couldn't agree with you more. Politics make me cry. They are just puppets, that smirk on McCain's face, does he think we'd vote for "any" woman? Doesn't Palin have enough to do with a newborn? She's so unqualified, couldn't that damned party come up with a better woman, oh no a better woman would have nothing to do with them. I could go on........

I even did a rant on Palin (or, I should say, let my friend, Nevada Jack rant). I'm not sure about her being against contraceptions, but she is far right of even most who would consider themselves pro-life by wanting to outlaw abortion for rape and incest. Of course, she's not really pro-life, for I suspect she supports capital punishment and the moose population certainly don't think of her that way.
I didn't think of pecan pie as that American--more Southern (pecans don't grow very far north). It's not hard to make, I can send you my moms recipe, you just need lots of sugar and corn syrup and pecans.

Hi keda. Picking Palin is unfortunately a clever move by the republicans. We're all doomed, doomed I say! Actually I say a different word beginning with eff.
The voters were daft enough to elect Bush twice - think what they'll do with someone twice as smart, 5 times as nasty and 100 times more articulate. McCain can't lose.
The only hope is that her cockiness might turn off enough republican misogynist voters, but I don't see that happening - their racism would outweigh their fear of women.
But spare a thought for Osbasso - he has to live there.

Oh My Dear. I LOVE LOVE LOVE, This Post!
I haven't been here in such a long long time, and I am so glad that the impulse came over me today....I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE!
These people scare the shit out of me!
I will never understand how anyone with half a brain voted for Bush...! Especially the Second time. He is an illterate, besides everything else.
And the McCain/Palin ticket is OBSCENE!
I feel like I am living in an alternative universe. Truly. It's The Pod People...The Stepford Wives and Husbands!
Thank You Keda....From more than Halfway around the world, (Well, I think it is more than halfway) YOU have articulated it ALL in the most wonderful wonderful way!
BRAVA, BRAVA, BRAVA!
