I love the collage idea! Work like that inspires and educates. I spent a semester in college working on the first cross-disciplinary project my art college had ever hosted. It was a huge success, we didn't create a giant piece, instead we collaborated on many smaller pieces and made some outstanding friends along the way. And tipped quite a few bottles of wine!
