Gravatar let2 is a genius.

hope the school bullying is beig sorted

Gravatar ..or is black an absence of light/colour?

red+green+blue=white so does black= -red-blue-green?

Gravatar Aye, they be... that is actually a pretty profound question.

Glad you are back posting. If you missed it... here is my latest silly video http://vimeo.com/2367161

Gravatar stomped by the "Lets"

I hope the situation at their school has gotten better--kids picking on other kids can be terrible.

Gravatar Black is the absence of color, white is the sum of all the colors, at least in light, I think. How's the storm?

Gravatar You have cute kids!

Gravatar They don't need no school

Gravatar The Lets have inspired a conversation of at least 10 minutes at my house. To a painter, black is all colors and white is no colors. To a scientist it's the opposite: white is all colors (light), and black is no colors (no light).
To an audiologist (a scientist who studies sounds and ears), sounds don't exist when there are no ears to hear it. So I guess before there was anything, even if "nothingness" were in fact black, it wouldn't be black if there were no eyes to see it.

Gravatar Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday!

Gravatar Unfortunately, I put the big damper on it. "Black" was the answer. Black and white are values, not colors. That's how we escaped the "color" quandary.

Y'all had it right. Black is the absence of color while white is
the presence of all colors. If there was nothing, not even light, it would be black.

In terms of sound (for the audiologist), it requires vibration of...well...stuff. Ears aren't required. Vibrating stuff is required for sound. No nothing to vibrate, no sound.

I rock at killing children's imaginations.
