My kids haven't been to a pumpkin patch either... we don't even do pumpkins or trick or treat. They've lived to tell about it. Too bad I can't curb the desire to buy candy we don't hand out. Somebody's gotta eat it. All 8 bags of it. Need any candy for your kindergarten party??

Walmart all the way baby...even in Stucco-ville (sorry inside joke there) I got 4 for $10 and they carve just fine. I'll save the pumpkin patch for field trips and save my money for the counseling they will endure later in life because their mom never took them to a pumpkin patch!!
Peace Out!

Well, that little butterfly was the best! How cute to see her again. The only thing that comes close are these two ballerinas.

We spent $30 for our family of 4 plus Gran just to GET INTO the pumpkin patch. Good heavens! I bought a pumpkin at Sam's for $7 and then a pre-carved one for the door. Perfect!

You are very funny Addie. I enjoy your humor. I still to this day have never been to a pumpkin patch and feel that my life is complete. We always got ours from an old man on the side of the road who grew his own. I think no matter how you get a pumpkin, it's just fun to hack it up and look at it with a candle in it. Last year I carved a cross in a pumpkin and it just ended up looking scarey... hey.. I guess that's not too bad after all. Gwen's waking up...!!

We don't have rules about pumpkins around here. Usually we get one pumpkin for the family and we all work together on it. We'll see what this year holds. I wouldn't feel bad about going to walmart over the pumpkin patch! We don't really have too many close to us so we choose the grocery store, too!
I love the tutu... I wish I had a girl!

We did the pumpkin patch thing a few times in the past. The rule was, if you couldn't carry the pumpkin, then you had to pick a smaller one.
This worked well when they were little. Not so much now. Only problem is, since we went to the pumpkin patch in the past, it has been etched in their minds as one of the inalienable rights of childhood.
So, I have heard a million and six times this last month: "Mom, when are we getting our pumpkins."
Is there some sort of statute that says we have to have pumpkins at all? Because more than paying for them, I hate painting them. (Again, that's what we have always done in the past.)
NO MORE PUMPKINS, I say.
