Gravatar lookin fwd to your writing on it hermano. i made a similar trip. it took me a full year to process, it was so intense. that was where i was at. i should be finishing a short film soon that tries to talk about my findings and feelings. but you sound right about where i was at. except prepared. i had no idea what to think about it. i had no mental framework in place. you have it sized up well i think. yeah. it was a trip for me. quite a learning experience. good in the end, but strange. go represent manuel! órale!

Gravatar I hope you have a great experience and I'm sorry I won't be there to finally meet you. Now that the day is here, I'm feeling sorry for myself.

I look forward to your thoughts on the experience. I have mixed thoughts myself after going to Year 1 and Year 2 -- which were in many ways very different from each other.

And I'm happy to hear that nezua (who I was NOT fortunate enough to meet in person last year) is finally going to finish that film. I thought he gave up.

Gravatar thx, nez. i'm looking forward to your video, too. the problem i have is that i know many of these people. once again, borders are blurred, so just trying to figure out where i fit in the whole scheme of things

Maryb - don't feel sorry for yourself, I know that you're just awaiting the perfect opportunity to make it to the Old Pueblo someday. As much stuff as we've been through online over the years, I'm certain we'll end up at the same meet-up at some point.

Gravatar Manny, you should plan on taking a role as a panel speaker next year. As I understand it, a number of panels have been organized by members of the dkos universe. I belong to the foody yahoo group that was ornanizing such a panel. (I stopped being involved a while back.)

Beyond that, I'm so glad that you were selected. It will be a great experience for you. Enjoy yourself.

BTW, we'll be out in Sedona in August, if you're around.

Gravatar I am very much looking forward to reading what you write on your experience at Netroot Nations, Manny.

I think the biggest focus for all Americans who are determined to change this country for the better has got to be coalitions, and I for one want to learn about the practicalities of forming real working coalitions, not just lip-service driven casual alliances.

Agree very much with you about the need for the progressive blogs to incorporate, not merely entertain, the views of bloggers like you and the diversosphere in general.

We're going to need every important view, imo, in the coming years, when things are going to get very difficult for us all.

Gravatar nope, mary i didnt give up. it was just such an identity shaking event that to make it too soon would have been to waste too many lessons. i hope to get it out soon.
