I don't think the argument is that racism no longer exist - it certainly does and always will - I think the argument is that racism has very little power (near, though not total, insignificance) now to stop minorities from succeeding. The two are very different things.

I work with a young black woman who used to "poo-poo" the idea of racism. Then about a year ago, she started working in an urban middle school. She's changed her tune lately.

NL - I bet. From what I'm reading, school segregation is getting worse thanks to our dry powder evaders, Alito and Roberts. The funding is atrocious here in AZ with everything tied to property taxes, many times rural school districts are tied to one large employer in the area. Not very solid footing, imo.
