Hahaha. Ya, I actually LIKE the crazy Apple store atmosphere. I just wish they would put in a Starbucks. They seem so geeky and worldly at the same time. Of course with my recent iPhone (old) crash I have spent a lot of quality time there while gazing at the line of new iPhone seekers. I am jealous of their position since I am one of those who are ineligible for an upgrade without mortgaging the house. Oh apple, how you tease me.
I would totally use free WiFi to visit Barefoot Foodie.

All my 'techy' (geeky) friends can spend hours and hours telling you how superior their Apples are...
If I can get online, type, use the internet and create word files or use photoshop, I don't care what kind of machine it's happening with.

I've been thinking about switching to a Mac, but I got so stressed out trying to buy iPods for my boss at one of their stores (what an experience, and yes, there was shoving involved) that I haven't really taken myself up on my desire to switch. And then there's the whole right click thing, which I'm highly addicted to. So... is it worth it? Despite the obnoxious Mac boy, do you recommend it?

@Mamasphere...OMG, yes, the right click thing! I keep trying to do it, but there's nothing there! I'm still on the fence about recommending it, especially if you don't NEED a new computer yet. I do like the concept of it not crashing or apps inexplicably closing (IE seems to do it a lot on my PC) and not needing anti-virus software.

As a Mac fan(atic), who used to live in Kuwait and the proud owner of a new iPhone, I'm not quite sure if I dare show my face here....
To right click, use Control-click

Hmm ... Well, my wife the Mac user picks on Windows even more than I do, and I'm a Linux user. But that's okay, Windows deserves it.

Yes, Mac users are snobs. And you've changed since you got yours. Just kidding, I'm so jealous of their care free-non cluttered desktops.
Thanks for the WiFi link. I love free wifi hot spots. I never lug my giant ass Dell anywhere out in public. But what a fun option for all you Air useres. I think my BlackBerry weighs more than that laptop. I'm so sad now.

Thanks for that wi-fi link. Free wi-fi gets me going like nothing else.

I have macs at work and a pc at home. As long as I can do what I want I love them both. There you go.
Also, that smiley face on the left hand side bounces up and down and makes me dizzy.
Just thought I'd share.

Mac fan here. I love them and have had great experiences at the Apple store. I haven't noticed the snobbiness of Mac-users, but could that be because I am one?

My son got a Powerbook his sophomore year in college and now he's too good to hang out with the rest of the reg'lar folks. He wasn't home more'n a coupla days and the pretty young thang next door wanted him to take her out and do you know he flat refused to do it? Now I know he's gone and gotten all educated up at that fancy college, but she's still family dammit! She was good enough for him when he was eleven and lookin' to get ...
That's probly what they call "TMI" huh?

I made the mistake of asking a Mac person what LINUX was the other day and I was met with a barrage of techspeak that would have made Orwell roll in his grave. I was then informed that I was supporting a corrupt industry by having a Microsoft based computer and that I was contributing to the downfall of WEstern Civilization. So, yes, I've encountered the Mac snob.

And I want to be one of them.

I used to be a mac snob cause that's where I started. But, then I had a job interview and they asked me if I'd recommend mac or pc and of course I said mac.
What did they buy? A pc of course! So I learned to work on both. I'm still partial to macs but I can work on both and be quite happy.

Once, the Geek Squad came to my house (I kid you not) and they spent the whole visit trying to tell me why I needed to splurge and buy a Mac. However, I just wondered if I paid them a few extra dollars, would they let me ride in their Geek mobile...

Mac users pay more for a computer that uses the same processor as a PC, and that LOOKS thinner than a Thinkpad because the edges are tapered.
Snobbery is a kind of stupidity.

I'm on my Mac at Starbucks reading this. Really. It's my vacation hideaway from "those" people I live with. Later I'll hit the local brew pub that also has free Wifi.
And I love my Mac (and my brews).
