Gravatar *Pssst* The secret word is "pomegranate."

Being a Southerner, I adore Dixieland and one of the best things about going to New Orleans with Beloved last fall on one of his many business trips was roaming up and down Bourbon Street on a Friday night and watching Steamboat Willie and his New Orleans Jazz Band at Cafe Beignet. We even bought one of his CDs, specifically requesting one that featured the banjo.

Cause we're just that way.

Gravatar Your point is well taken, Manjo.
Check out the Night Blooming Jazzmen and the 101st Army Dixieland Band...if you're willing to brave the crowds. I would, if I could.

Gravatar I'm with you on the taste in jazz. I figure it's too intellectual for me. But Dixieland--that I can feel!

I'm not with you in Old Sac because IT'S COLD...AND WINDY....and I'm so glad I'm not a concessionaire at the Jazz Festival.

Gravatar I can get that secret music off Riverwalk Jazz on Public Radio. Shhh. Don't tell anyone.

Gravatar That's the truth.

We hate large crowds too..but some venues (not officially part of the festival) had jazz and admission was FREE. La Rivage on the river was one such spot. They featured people who were not invited to participate..or who were excluded.

Gravatar No, no, no! Don't listen to jan! The secret word is Étouffée. **Shhhh**

Before I forget, because I may, I know oogle is spelled ogle, but Marshall's spelled it oogle and I'm just tryin' to play nice!

OK, bring on the black beans and rice, the Ya-Ya Sisterhood crowns, the Dixieland Jazz and all the Saints marchin' in that I can get!

BTW, I love my toast really toasted.

Gravatar Darn, I hate it when I forget who I am.... see that Gandalf & Grayson comment up there? Yeah, well... they're my cats. I hate it when they don't log off when they're done with my computer.
