Hi, Margaret! Mibsy sent me here, and I must say I believe we're kindred spirits based on two things: love of old roses and ownership of the same flannel monkey pajamas! My Apothecary and Kazanlik roses are long finished for the season (Ispahan hung on a bit longer), but I get to enjoy pictures of yours!

P.S. Just scanned your profile, and I'm in shock -- you're a Connells fan? I'm not the only person ever to hear of them?? I saw them in concert in Chicago in the late 80s...very friendly, down-to-earth.

I have two, count 'em, two pair of monkey flannel pajamas. So far!
those are gorgeous. while browsing the roses, a couple of your winter shots in the sidebar caught my attention and caused me to wonder at this place where we live. 100+ inches of snow in the winter and blooming beauties and fantastic vistas in the summer. Aren't we so blessed to live here?
