The GOP is no longer the party of fiscal conservatism. It's worse than the Democrats ever were under that other President from Texas.
According to the Tax Foundation (www.taxfoundation.org), in fiscal 2003, Alaska was the #2 beneficiary of the give and take from Uncle Sam. For every $1 Alaskans paid in taxes, they got $1.89 back. Wonder who #1 is?
New Mexico. Our own Land of Enchantment received $1.99 for every $1 we paid in federal taxes.
So, who's economy has the most to lose from the kind of massive federal spending cuts that Mario and his far right ilk propose? New Mexico.
What do you say, Mario? Why not try to sell these ideas to all of New Mexico? Why not...

Oh, you're right. I've seen the light. A government funded economy has served New Mexico unbelievably well.
For example, we have our world class education system.. Oops, probably not a great example. Well, how about that high-wage economy? Uh, I guess I shouldn't go there either. Well, at least we're safer here, right?
Now, don't get me wrong. I love New Mexico, but imagine what it would be like if it was not a government based economy.
A government based economy. Is that a way of saying a society of tax collectors? I am a union adocate. So I say we need a tax collectors union. Wowza! looky there we got a tax collectors union. And them tax collectors... if they don't want to stay sober all day, particularly for their commute to Santa Fe, I say we give them 200 million for a train.
Them union tax collectors, if they run short of money between elections, hey how 'bout a special election... we could call it a 'tweeener cuz it is in between... and the money will always be approved by a margin exactly equal to ... the number of union members. 'Course some will get to vote twice cuz they'll need to offset them stinking right wing cheaters. there you have it New Mexico political integrity in a nutshell... or a shell game er...

I would rater hear both sides slinging their mud to see who looks the worst,
then for us to stop debating and reach for our guns like we did during the civil war.
This country is in trouble. We need to work on the issues in our own land then pouring billions of dollars to nations who don't give a rats behind what we think is right for them. What if Bush asked Bin Laden for some one on one time? Or consoles the women who lost her son for 15 mins. That compassionate conservatism?
