You want to follow the money, try this one on Anne Bingaman's involvement in the fraud involved in the ongoing telecomunicatioins fraud cases.

Anne Bingaman played a key role as an U.S. assistant attorney general of the Clinton Administration in the development telecommunications policy, including the 1996 Telecommunications Act.

Anne Bingaman joined LCI after her stint at the Department of Justice.

Senator Bingaman was on the Committee in 1998 which assessed the status of the telecommunications industry.

Qwest acquired LCI in mid-1998. Although LCI had not built any local networks of its own, it was just reselling services from local carriers.

Anne Bingaman left with her huge bonuses after Qwest acquired LCI.

Senator Bingham sat on the Armed Services Committee when Global Crossing almost won the award for the Defense Information Systems.

As lobbyist for Global Crossing, which went bankrupt, she received $2,500,000 for six months' work during 1999. The NY Times reported that Anne Bingaman's office released a statement in which she stated she, "never met or spoke at any member of Congress or congressional staff on behalf of Global Crossing."

Qwest has also previously filed for bankruptcy and was investigated by the DOJ and the SEC.

She was also a Director at McLeod USA (along with Erskine Bowles, of Clinton fame) that declared bankruptcy in Jan '02, 2 days after Global Crossing filed

That's simply not true. Bingaman was not on the committee of jurisdiction over the Telecom act in 1998. So, you're wrong there.

And to say that the Senate Armed services committee makes any decisions regarding who the Pentagon choses as contractors is a total stretch Not to mention that the firm didn't even get the contact. "Almost" doesn't seem to mean that there was any undo pressure anywhere.

Try again, buddy
