So, if and when the US House of Representatives punish tom delay or try to remove him from office, every Republican member of that body, including Stevan Pearce and Heather Wilson should recuse themselves because they took (not just $50 from the accused) but tens of thousands of dollars from Delay?
I love the Republicans that try to accuse the dems in New Mexico of being corrupt for having a minimal association with Vigil, whereas you seem to have no problem at all with Republicans in Congress and their association with Tom Delay. Hypocrites.
What about local Republicans association with Ken Zangara--past Bernalillo County GOP Chair, convicted felon, used car salesman?

Delay has stepped aside as a result of the rules of the House Republican Conference, and as I recall Congresswoman Heather Wilson voted against changing those rules. You can find my thoughts on the subject here.
Vigil refuses to step aside despite concerns on both sides of the aisle. Breaking the law is breaking the law and those found guilty should suffer the consequences.
However, not all infractions are created equal. Murder is worse than a speeding ticket just as racketeering and extortion are worse than violations of campaign finance laws.
To the best of my knowledge no one is claiming that the investigation into the corruption that has plagued the State Treasurer's office for the last decade while under Democratic control is motivated by partisan politics. The same cannot be said for the Delay case.

Gov. Richardson's organization, "Moving America Forward" has donated contributions to choosen few Politico's during the 2004 Primary and General Election. According to the Center of Integrity report, Gov. Richardson took advantage of a Gray area to create "Moving America Forward". What I understand, the Media reported that "Moving America Forward" had a Balance of $480,000 Dollars after the General Election in 2004 and that amount was transfered to Gov. Richardson's Campaign War Chest. It is time to clean house in Santa Fe and in Washington D.C. Big Money leads to Corruption and Control and American's will not tolerate it any longer. Eli, as usual you don't understand much. Richardson's moving America Forward wasn't created in "a grey area" but under federal campaign and IRS laws (it's a 527 organization). Moving america forward donated it's funds to richardson's campaign, and because we don't have campaign limits in NM races, there's nothing wrong with that.

"Delay has stepped aside as a result of the rules of the House Republican Conference... Vigil refuses to step aside despite concerns on both sides of the aisle."
1) This argument equates Vigil's resignation from office to DeLay's stepping down from his leadership position. To be logically coherent, shouldn't you call on DeLay to resign from Congress? I think there's a big difference between losing one's job and getting demoted - you equate the two.
2) Let's look at Mario's words: "rules" vs. "concerns." We all agree that violating a written rule deserves a punishment - but, can we really equate a proven rules violation to a bipartisan "concern?" Come on...
3) There's widespread "concern" that Bill Frist participated in illegal insider trading and Scooter Libby and/or Karl Rove leaked the name of an under cover CIA agent. Does that mean that Rove, Libby and/or First should step down? Under your logic it does... If you believe in innocent until proven guilty for Frist/Rove/Libby, etc. - you should believe in innocent until proven guilty for Vigil.
Note: I don't necessarily disagree with you mario1, I just want you to use solid logic.
