There's never been a more opportune time for the Republicans in the State Legislature to show that they can stand up to corruption. Unless you act toward calling for the impeachment of Robert Vigil, you will be seen by the Republican Party base as weak.

Each of you in the State House is up for election in 2006. This means that you need to do something productive while you are up there in Santa Fe to show your constituents that you are actually worth re-electing. Impeaching Robert Vigil is that "something".

If you continue not to act, I am sure that there are several Republicans waiting for the chance to seek your office; not to mention the Democrats that are lining up against you as I write this. Show your opponents and the voters of this state that you care about open, honest government. Your political future depends on it.

Now is not the time to Impeach the State Treasurer. We must allow the Federal Judicial System to work. If the Treasurer is Impeached NOW the action will stall the hot issue of Corruption. "La Politica" wants to Impeach only to show their action to the people and to cover their backs. In my humble opinion, I would like to see the Federal Case Develop, which will yield more defendant's within "La Politica" and the Crooks that provide the Kickbacks. It is time to clean house in Santa Fe and the Impeachment Process will only slow down the House Cleaning. This is a Reminder, Gov. Bill Richardson sits on the New Mexico State Board of Finance and he knows who, what, where, when and why OUR State Treasurer Office is in such a mess. Prior to Gov. Richardson's election as Gov. he sat on the Board at PEREGRINE System's Inc. PEREGRINE System's LIED to the People and it's Stockholder's by Overstating their worth by $100,000,000 MILLION DOLLARS. Gov. Richardson has a Track Record that he can not avoid and New Mexicans have the right to know all of the Facts in regards to his involvement with his Brother-In-Laws Corrupt Corporation PEREGRINE System's Inc. Let's let the Federal Judicial System Work and slow down the Impeachment Process.

Eli, you're a little off base. The impeachement process has very little bearing on the federal investigation that will continue to unfold.

Impeachment must occur to determine whether or not Mr. Vigil should be immediately removed from office. Whereas, the federal trial will in all likelihood drag on for many months or years.
