Mario, I respectfully disagree with you on the downfall of the democratic party. Just as I disagree that the downfall of the republican party and the presidancy is in disarray that is generally being reported.
The Democratic party is going through a battle for the soul of the party. Are they going to be a moderate party with a trending toward the middle? or are they going to be a liberal or progressive? It is a healthy battle to have!
I believe the two political party are becoming to much alike. There needs to be debate on which way the nation is going and that debate can not and will not happen if the only difference in the Republicans and Democrats is how much we spend each year.
George Bush is not an lame duck president and the New Mexico Democratic party will turn out fine.
Mr. Chavez makes sense above. Personally, I'm pleased as punch whenever people anywhere are interested and informed enough to argue the finer points of politics and governance. As we all know, the vast majority of our citizens could care less or are so cynical they can't be bothered.
Mario is definitely informed. That's why I appreciate his site and his presence in the local blogger community even though I disagree with him almost all of the time.
PS That letter you quote reads like it comes from AOL's worst message boards or something. Grammar and spelling......lost in the shuffle!
FACT: The New Mexico Democatic Party (NMDP) was Hijacked by Richardson when he became Gov. in 2002.
Richardson has used and abused the NMDP and its Membership by appointing his "Drummer Boy" in April 2004, as Party Chair. It is known fact that Richardson controls the NMDP thru his Drummer Boy. In the Primary election in 2004, Richardson pinned Democrat against Democrat by selecting whom he wanted to run for Political Office. That action split the Party. Richardsons action will never heal the anger Richardson caused within the NMDP.
Richardsons Actions, Personal and Political will be fair game in the General Election of 2006. Every Action and Non-Action, and Closet DoorS will be opened and exposed to all New Mexicans.
DEMOCRATS: It is time to DUMP Richardson and his choosen few from Control of NMDP, and it is time to rebuild the Peoples Party (NMDP) for all Democrats to be proud of with an equal voice and choice for a better New Mexico.
Dmocrats are leaving the Party in on a daily basis and becoming Independents because of Richardson and his Control of the Party. By the time the General Election comes around in 2006 Richardsons poll numbers will be down and New Mexicans will Dump Richardson as he has Dumped and turned his back on them and our State (s) needs.
Richardson, Libby, Bush, Rove and Cheney all swim in the same Cess Pool and they all have lead our Country and State into disaster. Our Moving Train will continue to "Tell It Like It Is" about Richardson and his Croonies, and when our Mission is complete, New Mexicans will make the decision whom they want to Lead New Mexico forward.
