What an uninformed remark.
There is a very good reason why someone in another state should care about what's going on in our state. Crime and criminals don't confine themselves to municipal or state boundaries. Federal funds go to local cops to crack down on Methamphetamines and other problems that inevitably are not only local problems. If we succeed at fighting crime locally, it has an impact nationally. That's why the federal government funds local police departments.

Not only is there all the traffic camera money, but the city collected over one million dollars in false alarm fines last year, and that is money the police could use locally, without "crying" for federal help.

I have relatives in New Jersey, and they're cool with spotting Albuquerque a few bucks if it will cut down on DWI's, and help us combat the burgeoning "Al Hurricane" crisis.

I mean, how many Al Hurricane's can a state support before anarchy sets in?
