So EX Gov. Gary Johnson did no hiring of friends??? Yeah, right. How about him and his construction buddies running wild all over the state building "private prisons". It got so great he could even afford to sell his own construction company for LOTS OF BUCKS.
You need to go back east because the smog is still in your brain.

I'm detecting a recurring motif here, Mario. You're going to link Patricia Madrid to every perceived flaw in Richardson's administration, aren't you? This one is particularly weak. Does anyone think that Patricia Madrid can tell Big Bill what to do? Maybe we can blame Bob White for failing to charge Martin Chavez with a crime for his administration's executive appointments?
As long as you've brought up Heather Wilson's opponent (again), I'd like to post my most recent response to last month's general post on her candidacy:
----------
From my earlier comment:
"I will admit to a grudging admiration for those principled elements of Heather Wilson's stance on this, but I don't think anything will come of it."
And sure enough nothing has. From the 3/8/2006 Albuquerque Tribune (N.Y. Times News Service):
"Moving to tamp down Democratic calls for an investigation of the administration's domestic eavesdropping program, Republicans on the Senate Intelligence Committee said they have reached agreement with the White House on proposed bills to impose new oversight but allow wiretapping without warrants for up to 45 days."
Actually the planned bills allow for warrantless wiretapping forever. The AG just has to "certify the surveillance is necessary to protect the nation" every 45 days. As long as the AG "certifies" this, they can wiretap without warrants as long as they want.
Heather Wilson's triangulation has achieved nothing to prevent American citizens from having their communications spied upon without any warrant. All Congress has done is to say that what the Bush administration was doing illegally can now be done “legally.” Big improvement! (smirk)

CHARLIE, IF YOU EVER READ THIS, IT IS APPARENT THAT YOU PICKED UP ON MARIO'S POINTING OUT MADRIDS CONNECTION TO RICHARDSON ACTIONS. IN MY OPINION HE IS RIGHT TO DO THIS REGARDLESS OF PARTY.
GOVERNMENT LIVES BY THE OPINIONS OF THEIR ATTORNEY'S AND ATTORNEY GENERALS. CITY, COUTY AND STATE AND YES EVEN BUSHY. THE TREND HAS BEEN FOR 6 YEARS, TO CHANGE THINGS "ADMINISTRATIVELY" WITHOUT ANY THOUGHT FOR CONSISTENCY OR LAW. I SUSPECT JOHNSON'S WHOLE COMPACT DISPUTE WAS ADVICE FROM THE A.G., BUT HE DECIDED TO GO AGANST SAME ADVICE BECAUSE HE FIGURED THAT REGARDLESS OF COST, IT COULD WORK AND CUT BUREAUCRAY. WORKED BUT COST.
I DO NOT FOR A MINUTE, BELIEVE THAT VIGIL-GIRON COULD WIPE AWAY 70 YEARS OF NEW MEXICO STATUTE ON VOTING, JUST BECAUSE AS SHE SAID ON PBS (199 "SOMEONE MIGHT BE INTIMIDATED BY HAVING TO SUPPLY A D.L. OR VOTER REG CARD". NO, MADRID IS SHOWING THE WAY TO MANIPULATE THE LAW, THROUGH MIS READING CASE LAW AND NO ONE IS HOLDING HER OR THE OTHERS ACCOUNTABLE.
REMEMBER VIGIL-GIRON AND THE MILLION DOLLAR TAX PAYER FUNDED ADVERTISEMENT OF "YOU MAY BE ASKED FOR A I.D." WHEN THIS WAS INVESTIGATED BY UNKNOWN INVESTIGATORS, IT WAS RULED LEGAL, NOT COMMON SENSE OR POLITICAL ADVERTISING. DONE. IMMEDIATELY RICHARDSON, MADRID ET AL, ARE PLACING ADS GALORE USING DEPT. OF TRANSPOTATION MONEYS AND DEPARTMENT OF REGULATION MONIES, AND THEIR NAMES AND FACES, FOR ISSUES THAT ARE TRADITIONALLY LEFT TO POOR POLICE, FIRE PSA'S. CONSEQUENTLY DWI, IDENTITY THEFT, FIRE PREVENTION TAX MONEY IS NOW USED TO ADVERTISE DEMOCRATS. YOU THINK THE LESSON LEARNED FROM THE VIGIL-GIRON INVEST. HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHAT THEY COULD "LEGALLY DO" AS OPPOSED TO WHAT THEY LEARNED THEY COULD GET AWAY WITH? PSYCHOLOGISTS CALL IT TRANSFERENCE, IN GOVERNMENT ITS CALLED "POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY".
