I think the "deafening silence" you are talking about is coming from the incumbent Republican congressperson who, despite her military and foreign service background and her time on the intelligence committee fails to offer any commentary on the current administration's inability to gather essential intelligence or conduct a successful war effort. Not a peep or shred of independent insight into the major issue of the day from our member of congress. |

A couple of things, Heather is a legislator not a prosecutor. One of the problems with the legislative process both at the state and federal level is that legislators think they are more than they are: they believe they are prosecutors or part of the executive branch. Heather has no reasonability to investigate Bush, Vigil or Gov. Richardson. |

Great post Mario. |

God, Frank, that's an awful analogy. Heather Wilson is a member of Congress, and as a former member of the Armed Services committee and a current member of the Intel. committee, she should be conducting some level of oversight over the budgets she oversees and be in a position to question a program or a funding stream when it is not being adminstered correctly. As well, she may not be a prosecutor but she is supposed to be a member of a body that polices its own members and demonstrate some appropriate ethics when accepting campaign contributions and dealing with lobbyists. She's not doing either. |

Read the constitution, Tim. The problem again, at the federal and state level is that legislators are doing too much. |
