I think that "National Identity Cards" are an inevitability if we wish to solve the illegal immigration issue. Their danger, of course, is what info will be contained in the card and who will be able to access that info.
Look forward to meeting you on the 26th.

I have a Passport, Drivers License, Social Security Card, and soon a Voters ID Card.
If a National ID Card contains only basic information I have no problem with it.

Hey. Would Mike and Bruce feel better if the USA government could devise a card which would enable the owner to show all or only a part of the information contained in it? Voter ID portion for voting board, e.g. The big problem to me is who is allowed to say "Let me see your papers!", and when and under what circumstances. I do not mind showing my papers if all are required to do so under reasonable circumstances. But no 1930's movies stuff. jack
