I would agree with Jim Baca. He should keep the money, if he returns the money the guy would only spend on more young women.

Gravatar This whole mess happened while I was on the road Mario. There was never any question I would return it, it was just how much I could do at one time. Since I have not raised huge amouts of money from people who do business with the land office, my coffers are lower than that of Pat Lyons who has recieved $700,000 from oil and gas, real estate and other lesees of the land office.
In fact, just before I signed on to your blog I sent Steve Terrell a note that I would begin posting my donations to your new website. Will Pat Lyons? Why dont you ask him? Can I trust that site to be truly non partisan?

Gravatar Jim, I'd be thrilled to see you step up and post your contributions in real time to ethicalreporting.com. Be sure to let me know if you need any assistance. Of course, Pat Lyons is invited to do the same.

Yes, I am committed to making and keeping ethicalreporting.com a non-partisan site. If I don't, I'm sure that the press and every other blogger will hold my feet to the fire.

Gravatar Mr. Baca, you really had me going. Your comment above made it seem that you had committed to ethical, real-time reporting. Unfortunately, I just saw what you actually said to Steve Terrell:

I challenge Pat Lyons to put his campaign donations on line with Burgos. I will do it if he agrees. It wouldn’t make sense to do it unilaterally, but I will do it. Will He?
Tsk, tsk, tsk... this mentality is precisely what is wrong with New Mexico politics. What you're really saying is "I'm not willing to lead by example." Representative Kathy McCoy (R) has a Democratic opponent in the general election, but she didn't need her opponent to do what she felt was a first step in restoring public confidence.

New Mexico needs politicians willing to lead by example. After all of the scandals we've had an I'll-show-you-mine-if-you-show-me-yours attitude just isn't going to cut it.

Gravatar Jim Baca is not what New Mexico needs in any public office either elected or appointed. The arrogance that he has show in this election and as mayor of Albuquerque is appalling. He complains about Pat Lyons but look at what he did with City of Albuquerque Finances.

The sad part is that he(Jim Baca) accomplished something that Marty Chavez has trying to do for years. He made Marty Chavez look good.
