Hey Mario, why doesn't Heather post the debate on her campaign website? Madrid called your bluff. If the Wilson team thinks their gal did so well, they should be shouting it from the rooftops, right?

Nope, you got it wrong. Mardid is trying to get some spin control in place.
If Madrid wants to "call my bluff" she is going to have to get on the horn and take up KOAT and KRQE on their offers to broadcast live debates prior to early voting beginning.
I would be delighted to see that happen. As far as Heather streaming the video, there is no need. Heather has not spent the last few weeks trying to devise ways to debate Madrid in fron of the smallest possible audience.

You didn't answer my question. Given your assumption that Wilson wants as many people as possible to see her debate Madrid, doesn't it make sense to maximize the number of people that see the two of them debate face-to-face? She can increase the number of people that see them debate by putting on her website. So, I ask you again, why not pressure the Wilson people to put the debate on their website to maximize the number of people who get a chance to see it?

I did answer your question. The way to get the most people to see the debate is to air it on TV, not to stream it. I only streamed it because streaming is better than nothing, which is what the Madrid camp wanted.
Now that Madrid has taken the first baby step to public discourse, she needs to go all the way and participate in televised debates before voting begins.
Otherwise, we're back to where we started - Madrid trying to minimize the number of voters who can see her in an unscripted situation.
As far as Heather's folks shouting from the rooftops, it's not necessary. Anyone who watches the video can tell who won the debate.
Unlike Madrid's camp, Heather doesn't need advisors trying to spin the actual outcome through rooftop shouting and preprinted press releases.
Just like Heather's supporters are proud to use their own names when posting.

Of course the way to get most people to see it is to be on TV. But, insofar as Wilson needs Madrid's cooperation to make that happen, can more people see the debate if a) Wilson puts the debate on her website or b) Wilson doesn't put the debate on her website? The answer is clear - the more the online video is distributed, the more people will see it.
Your argument is, essentially, that if the optimal situation (television) doesn't happen as opposed to pursuing the less optimal situation (internet streaming) - Wilson should opt for the least optimal situation (not posting it to her website): the one in which the fewest amount of people possible see it. That doesn't make much sense.
Also, something else that's perplexing. A Democrat friend whom I sent this link forwarded me an email from the Madrid campaign. Apparently, Madrid also sent an email out announcing that the debate was on her website.

Tell you what. Since I have as much sway over how the Wilson campaign runs their website as Heather has in getting "Madrid's cooperation to make [tv debates] happen," I'll spend my time convincing the Wilson campaign to spend campaign dollars on revampaing their website as soon as you get Patsy to step up to a televised debate before early voting starts
Deal or no deal?
As far as a Madrid email... they are running as fast as they can to reverse course. All I can say is that unless she agrees to the TV debates, it is a little too little, a little too late. Again, if everyone is confident that Patsy did so well, she can only help her cause by participating in TV debates, right?

One more thing... To answer your rhetorical question:
"Where's Heather?"
She is waiting for Madrid to get the courage to stand up and make her case in a televised debate prior to early voting.

You claim that it was your pressure that caused the Madrid campaign to post the debate on their website. If that's the case, why not apply the same pressure to Wilson? We want as many people as possible to see the debate, right?
I agree with you regarding televised debates. I think they're good - the more the merrier. I just don't understand why just because Wilson can't have the most optimal situation (televised debates) she should opt for the least optimal situation (no internet distribution) as opposed to the less optimal situation (more internet distribution). Think of it this way. If Burgos and Madrid were the only ones distributing the debate online X number of people would see it. If Burgos, Madrid AND Wilson were distributing the debate online x + y people would see it since x + y is necessarily greater than x.
I bet thousands of people are visiting Wilson's website. I wish they are being given the same opportunity to see the debate as people visiting Madrid's website.
