Gravatar Mario-

I caught you and Jon on KOB this morning and thought you both were quite informative. Like you, I think that full disclosure is a great thing and I commend your efforts to get information out. As I read this post something you said on KOB begs a question: You said that you run your own advertising and Public Relations firm. Do you have political clients? If so, it would be most informative to know a little more as to who and the scope of contracted activities.

Gravatar Scott,

During the day I work predominantly with land developers and builders in and outside of New Mexico. I do not have any political clients. Not that I wouldn't take any, but if I did, I would disclose they were a client if I was writing about their race.

Basically, I avoid using this blog as a tool for any clients. Although I have in the past noted when I have launched a new blog on behalf of a client.

My goal is to always keep this blog in line with my personal opinions, not those of my clients. For example my stance on eminent domain is not always in line with some of my clients' best interests.

But that is the beauty of America, we are all entitled to our own opinions.

Thanks for asking the question.

Gravatar I find your comments refreshing and informative.

Gravatar Thanks for the clarification. For me, "The Line" has lost it's verve in the last few weeks and I've struggled to pin down why. I was a little concerned that there was some political deck stacking, especially with the selective editing of the Wilson/Madrid video. I guess that's not the case, though if one was to read just the written transcript and had to guess who said what, it would be very hard to delineate your statements from Wendy's, though it would be clear that it was one of you.

I've always enjoyed "The Line" for it's diversity of topical content, panelist viewpoints and energetic discussion. The value was both in the variety and the oftentimes unexepected, frenetic dialogue and thinking.

You can see where I am going. When you said a few weeks ago something like "you already know what I am going to say (or maybe sound like a broken record) I think you defined the fundamental change in the show. It has become predictable in content, opinion and dialogue. I would like to see either you or Wendy, not both; Margaret and then panelists both from the mainstream and the fringes. For content, I think more variety (not just the stuff being beat to death in the media), again both from mainstream and fringes dealing with local, state and national issues.
