Gravatar That is an interesting connection to make. Enviromental concern interfering with food production.

I was up in Colorado a week or so ago for some skiing. That's always fun. There's a candidate there name of Mark Udall. He is running campaign ads about those nasty energy corporations. Says if he wins he's gonna tax 'em pretty much dry. Says he's gonna use the tax revenues to get us free energy. Of course I can't help but wonder, if there is such thing as free energy, why do we need tax revenues to buy it? You know... that free energy that you can sign up for on your utility bill. It only costs five dollars more. Wierd huh?

Now I know all of the comrades that read this blog are gonna be all jealous that I spent money on skiing that the tax collectors should have got... but at the ski area they got signs that say that the ski area is 100% wind powered.

I gotta tell you, I don't believe it. I believe that a ski area can buy all of its energy from a Green Enron who could ostensibly buy all of the output from a wind energy farm, but really their energy comes from the grid and there is no legitimacy to the claim 100% wind powered.

So we got fossil burning steam plants that have to keep there steam up. There ain't no just switching them on wind the drops out. Enviromental rocket scientists don't necessarily have that figured out. Really all they understand that 'wind power' is two words and it fits nice on a bumper sticker. But the practical reality of satisfying an industrial demand with wind power... the wind quits... then we gotta give ropes to all of those guys stranded on chairlifts.

'Course those tax collectors like Mark Udall are pretty much hoping for a pretty stupid audience. An audience that is never going to figure out that corporations don't really pay taxes. They just pass them along to the consumer. You ever read your phone bill? Did you see all the taxes on there? Tax collectors went after the phone company and what happened? Taxes just went on your phone bill.

Then we got ethanol. Now there is a energy solution that had to have been dreamed up by a government employee.
Let's subsidize ethanol production and see what happens to farm land.
Duh, now we got SUVs drinking out of our bread basket. Amazing how fast that happened.

Gravatar Oh, did I tell you? I changed my name to skab cuz I got a new boyfriend that I met on this blog. He is in a union or something. A government employees union I think.

He calls taxpayers skabs. I think it is an affectionate reference or endearment or something that union guys have.

Gravatar I love how you conservatives can only use three lettr words...gun, tax, god, gay... you all really need a dictionary...specifically skag who doesn't know anything about anything and is just stuck in these angry rants all the time.

Who also doesn't understand anything about the term "scab" either. Four letter word too much?

Gravatar Doesn't know anything about anything. That's rich. Did I spell skab wrong. Did I not use enough lettrs?
