I heard on the news this morning that because of the fall in gas prices Richardson is rethinking any refund to taxpayers.
I will cash any check I receive but think there are better ways to use windfalls. A good one time use would be to put the money into repairing schools.

I'm looking for your big outraged posts on when Bush pushed through "stimulus" checks to taxpayers on two occasions both of which were directly added to the deficit and having trouble finding it Mario. Can you point these posts out? I seem to have lost them.

Dan: What do you think of Richardson's refund plan?

Mike: pointless and ill-conceived, any surplus money should be used for infrastructure instead, though I doubt there will be an actual surplus in the end.

What were the 2001 Bush tax cuts if not giving "us back money that he hasn't yet collected" or "taking money he doesn't have (i.e. projected) and spending it without concerning himself with consequences." ???
Please. The dissonance generated by watching pseudo budget hawks set their disused warbles on "shrill" after 8 years of preening hibernation is approaching truly preposterous levels.
Mario: Stop it. You simply cannot discuss 7 years of budget numbers without adjusting them for inflation. You'd be laughed out of a high school economics class, much less a Wall Street affair, the way you compare numbers. Are your readers really that dumb? No wonder you guys believe in the Supply Side Fairy. The rest of us believe in your record deficits, debased dollar, and stagflation.
