Yes, the Democrats won 2 years ago on a platform of change, but they don't have enough votes to override Bush's veto on anything he doesn't like nor do they have enough to override the obstructionist GOP's constant filibusters. Remember a few years ago when the GOP was threatening to eliminate the filibuster because the Dems in senate were holding up the confirmations of right wing wackjob judges Mario? I don't see you calling for the "nuclear option" these days much.

Darren White has been a truly awful and blatantly partisan Sheriff and the concept of him representing CD1 in the House makes me sick to my stomach. At least Heather Wilson is smart and accomplished (and relative to White, moderate.) White is a a neo-con sycophant who hasn't articulated a single policy difference from George W Bush. His whole campaign is based on pretending to be Mr. Law & Order (despite the abject failure of BCSO under his leadership) and trying to paint Heinrich as a communist.

And, lest we forget, he was the most prominent cheerleader for the illegal and pointless invasion of Iraq in NM.

It still amuses me picturing him using ninja moves to avoid having his photo taken with Bush at the White fundraiser earlier this year. Darren White: Loves Bush when only rich Bush supporters are around; has never heard of him when its time to campaign in public.

Also I'm curious as to why you think that being two points behind in a district that's never been lost by a Republican before while having roughly double the name recognition as his opponent is a good thing for White.

Is the RNCC's decision to pull their advertising from NM CD1 also a bad sign for Heinrich?
