Too bad Sen. McCain makes fun of his own age(And was the first to do it... on Saturday Night Live I believe). That makes it a topic that is open season to everyone else.
So the first one bringing up ageism is McCain. An why not bring it up...he uses it as an excuse for forgetting everything under the sun...shiites/sunnis oh must be old age that I mixed those up. Putin the leader of germany oh must be old age that I didnt say russia.
This is an argument where the facts aren't on your side, Mr. Burgos.

His age will be a campaign issue. His campaign will be actively attempting to fight the issue that some feel he's too old.
And it is something people are legitimately thinking about. To say otherwise is just ridiculous. To pretend that the McCain campaign will not try everything in their power to avoid any sort of implication that McCain looks or acts old is ridiculous.
But it's funny you should mention racism and sexism, because Fox News got in hot water when they referred to Michelle Obama as Obama's Baby Mama. Now this was probably not overt racism, but instead something by some person not understanding the implication of calling a black woman a "baby mama" instead of, as they would have a white woman, his wife.
You can go on attempting to pretend that age or race or sex don't matter -- and they probably shouldn't -- but in the minds of voters they do. To think otherwise would be ridiculously naive of anyone, let alone someone as politically in tune as yourself.
And if I were over sixty, I would be more concerned about what McCain thinks about Social Security. Well, maybe I should say what he thinks this week in front of whichever audience he is in front of.

oh please, mccain himself has strongly hinted at least twice that he may not seek reelection for a second term if he wins. you think he doesn't know he's old and that being the oldest president ever to be elected to a first term isn't an issue to some voters? well, he does and it is. joker!

When those Democrats take control they'll probably make ageist laws about who can run for office and whole segments of the US population will be second class citizens. Oh wait, the Founding Fathers already did that:

Huge difference between making light of it on SNL and it being one of the only attacks liberals have against McCain. So he is old... what point are you liberals trying to make? We should elect Obama, who has ZERO experience, because he is black? You blind liberals would vote for anyone provided they weren't a conservative or a Republican. It's pretty sad that you aren't voting to get someone elected into office you're voting to keep a group of people out of office.
