Chavez had a chance to stand up and demand an administrative audit of the leadership of the APS. He didn't have the balls; or he tacitly approves of the corruption and incompetence in the leadership of the APS.
Now that the Audit is in the works, he finally finds a pair, and starts looking for someone to take his picture and record his sound bite.
We are fortunate that this will be his last public office; not withstanding the fact that he makes great zoos and dog parks.

I will say that I find this all rather incomprehensible.
It's because I graduated from a small school I suppose. There were 40 people in my class. Somehow we managed to manage both votech and college prep.
So when we moved here and I realized that even the East Mountains was APS and highschool was Monzano, it blew my mind. It's not as though a whole lot of people don't live out here.
Heck, growing up, we couldn't even get our little school to go in with the little school next door for a bit of high school cooperation. (The districts there are long narrow rectangles, north to south. Even together they'd still be taller than they were wide.)
Who decided that big was better when it came to education? Education doesn't happen to massive groups of students, it happens to individuals.

Mario:
My psyche/brain says Marty needs to be as far from my classroom as possible. My belly (as in bellylaugh) sees massive humor possibilities in Marty seeking the Super job. Ergo, I'm finding myself torn. Good stuff, Mario.
Meanwhile, you also don't think Chavez would stand a chance against Denish? Scary when I agree with you on something like that.
I'm currently on the lookout for folks willing to take Chavez over Denish in a primary, thinking this could be a real money-making endeavor as I take advantage of those who mistakenly feel Marty's ABQ popularity would be enough to overcome the virulent enmity his name evokes in the rest of the state.
