yeah, I wonder if the perpetrtor was ever in jail or had any prior conviction that was dealt with leniently by some judge (lawyer).
I think that in days to come we are going to have to learn how to hold corrupt or opportunistic lawyers accountable.
I think they are the emerging class of predators.
Imagine a lawyer getting a crook out of jail... and then suing the guys that the crook robs.
Buy a gun? Join a militia?

In a case like this the ruling is emotional, not based on reason.
