I think the automatic delegates are Ward Chairs and county party officers. They were already elected the year before at Ward and County meetings like the recent ones. Will someone correct me if I'm wrong?

DPNM elects 1,511 delegates and then adds 408 State Central Committee members to have 1919 total people involved in the convention. The only easily found article with a figure for RPNM stated 'about 1,000 delegates gathered for the 2006 Republican Pre-Primary Convention.' So doing the math, wouldn't that make the Democratic Party about 50% more grassroots oriented and 90% more involved in New Mexico?
