Mario,
Usually your posts are right on. You missed the mark with your comments today about Patricia Madrid. She opposed moving the primary up to an early caucus way back in 2003 when it was first proposed by Governor Bill Richardson. She's always been an opponent to the early voting in New Mexico and told the Governor and party officials it was a bad idea as early as 2003. She is not being a Monday Morning Quarterback now that the caucus has failed.
She was right.
She values volunteers, but believes the Primary-style election is better because county clerks and the secretary of state's staff, who are not only paid, but have special training are better at running elections, albeit they've had their own share of problems in the recent past.
Madrid was ahead of the curve when she recommended leaving the Democratic Primary in place and selecting PLEDGED delegates from that election.
She's still valued as a Hispanic Democratic Leader nationally and was appointed co-chair of the Democratic Platform Committe in Denver.
