Gravatar I agree with you on this one Mario. Out-sourcing the making of licenses to some other state? How can that possibly be safer or more efficient?
That 45 day lag is absolutely ridiculous and byzantine. This is disastrous bureaucracy at its worst.

Gravatar Since the authorities believe the new license is so much better why not just continue to issue the current license with an expiration date of 45 days until the better license arrives. They already have all the equiptment to do this with. It is much safer and has the potential for fewer problems than a temporary paper license.

Gravatar "I hope this is simply another example of governmental incompetence. "

No Mario, this is what happens when government privatizes things that the government should be doing. And when a company in Washington state does things "cheaper" than the local government outsourcing is the way to go...or thats what I thought the motto of the Republican party was.

Im compltely against this privatizing and outsourcing of MVD(and part of our local government for that matter) and think it is so stupid. Whats next, are we going to outsource our government to India and China because we would only have to pay Sentors over there 5 dollars a day?? (Thats obviously an exagerration and no I dont see the government being outsourced anytime soon, just all the other jobs in this country.)

Gravatar Mario, if you had read the entire story you would have realized the new license will come in 7-10 days; the temporary license is good for 45 days but that is just for worst case scenarios.

Also, the MVD has apparently had problems with people breaking in and stealing license-making materials (or so they claim), so they decided to send it to a private company.

You can thank privatization for this one.
