Thanks for Commenting

Speaking of duping people, why do you and the rest of the GOP mouthpieces continue acting like US oil reserves, even if fully exploited, would significantly effect oil prices? Why do you pretend that it would decrease our foreign oil dependency significantly? Finally, why do you pretend that somehow those evil Democrats have any control whatsoever of current gasoline prices?

I mean, your whole premise of this rambling bullshit blog entry is that the Dems have somehow temporarily lowered gasoline prices to support their evil (and presumably communist!) agenda, but you offer not only no proof but not even any vague linkages between people that somehow points to a grand conspiracy as most idiot GOP mouthpieces like Hannity and Limbaugh tend to do.

What kind of idiot would be swayed by your argument at all? Why do you refuse to admit that two out of the three major driving forces for gasoline prices are patently the Bush admin's fault? The first is the destabilization of the middle east caused by Bush's pointless invasion of Iraq and the second is the Bush admin's intentional weakening of the US Dollar (yes, it was intentional, they hoped to improve the balance of trade by doing it.)

Did you even notice that the major reason for the big drop in oil futures two weeks ago was directly caused by the Bush admin finally agreeing to stop saber-rattling at Iran and actually engage them diplomatically, or does that not fit into your little narrative?

Gravatar In my opinion the energy situation is the most critical problem we are facing.
I would like to see a proposal whereby for every new well that is drilled, an equivalent source of alternatve energy is provided.
I don't know how far it will go, but I hope people will look at the pickens plan which is being promoted by T. Boone Pickens.
My vote for president will most likely go to the person who I feel has the best energy plan.

Gravatar Sort of off topic but it needs to be noted that Exxon Mobile just posted an 11.68m profit... highest ever... siting higher price of crude oil.

Gravatar Note Paul Krugman's op-ed today:

"A McCain campaign ad says that gas prices are high right now because “some in Washington are still saying no to drilling in America.” That’s just plain dishonest: the U.S. government’s own Energy Information Administration says that removing restrictions on offshore drilling wouldn’t lead to any additional domestic oil production until 2017, and that even at its peak the extra production would have an “insignificant” impact on oil prices.

What’s even more important than Mr. McCain’s bad economics, however, is what his reversal on this issue — he was against offshore drilling before he was for it — says about his priorities."

Gravatar Mario, I am now convince that you are retarded. I go to your site less often, and when I do, I am reminded why.

Gravatar Mario I thoroughly enjoyed this article. People keep thinking that drilling will not solve the gas price crisis, yet we know that gas prices have gone so high mostly due to speculation and now that the Dems are starting to think about drilling the prices are going down, and if we start drilling they will continue to go down. As a country maybe we should look at Canada(I know NOT CANADA) but they are able to get their oil from petroleum sandfields and are doing so at $70 a barrel. I for one would LOVE $70 a barrel right now. If we drill and have our own oil, we in a sense will be able to determine the price by supply and demand not by a crooked cartel. I am all about keeping our environment clean and doing my part to change, but I will not put myself into the poorhouse to do so. Being able to get to work and make money for my wife and kids is more important to me right now than the 2,000 plus acres of wasteland in Alaska.
Keep it up Mario
