Come on Mario. You know Governor Richardson was trying to set himself apart from the others by showing that he has experience balancing a budget. None of the other candidates has produced a balanced budget (except maybe in their own household). Sure he's constitutionally mandated to balance the budget, but Bill Richardson has done it and the others haven't. It looks to me like you and Steve Terrell are just nitpicking.
Sorry Ken and Mario, but I would not go so far as to say the budgets have been balanced. Having been a member of the House Appropriations Committee and have seen the slight of hand and paper work shuffle that his done. For one I cannot say that we have a balanced budget when you consider the number of State Agencies that come in every year and ask for more money for their budget to get through to 1 July. In addition, I cannot say that we have a balanced budget when the State Teacher Retirement fund has a deficit of $10 million that at some point the taxpayers will have to be make up.
Hey, the money for children's summer program was cut last year. Now the kids have nothing to do this summer. At least there is still free kid's lunch.
Did you know Bill Richardson is governor of New Mexico? C'mon Bill give it a rest. It was news the first 87 times, after that you could probably be assured the rest of the country got it.
