The (useless) law says creating the APPEARANCE of a conflict of interest violates the public trust.
Although there is an incontrovertible appearance of a conflict of interest here; nothing will come of it.
The governmental ethics act has not seen a single prosecution under the Act since its inception in at least 1978.
The clerk at the second judicial district records office offered;
"I guess it has never been necessary."
