Gravatar so if she's tired of men picking up men in public restrooms may be she could pass a few of them on. It's not like we're all getting that much ...

Gravatar Oh god now Mario's on the indefensible Katherine Martinez apologist train. KMart is the most blatant Marty Chavez stalking horse in history (just ahead of her ally Joanie Griffin, Marty's picked candidate in district 6 who's all the sudden pretending to be a Democrat.)

I also like that Mario apparently hasn't realized that De'Pascal is another Marty puppet and as a result he should be backing her to the hilt against her more progressive opponent regardless of the party affiliation each of them has.

Gravatar Um, you're kiddin' right? Dan, this must be your first visit to my blog. You might want to read through the archives a bit, or do a little Google work to figure out where I stand when it comes to the Mayor.

Gravatar If thats the case Mario, why have you been carrying his water on this Rey Garduno non-issue? You realize that this trumpeting of his misdemeanor 20 years ago is entirely the manufacture of Marty so that his marionette Joanie Griffin can win district 6?

Gravatar Additionally, why are you backing Marty's other picked candidate, Katherine Martinez?

Gravatar Dan,

Mario is probably backing Katherine Martinez because Debbie O'Malley is a Soltari-esque progressive (complete with the "My family has been in Albuquerque for generations. And now Albuquerque is expanding too much. We must slam the gates of Fortress Albuquerque shut and deny sanctuary to those immigrants from such foreign lands as New York City and Denver! ") and he's a strident Republican. Two things that go together like oil and water. It's not a matter of Mario carrying water for Mayor Chavez as much as it is "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Gravatar More realistically Benson, Marty is actually more conservative than most Republicans in this state are (certainly much more so than Brad Winter.)

I like the straw-man you've erected by saying that people who are against the unfettered growth we've seen in Rio Rancho are therefore against any growth whatsoever. Have you forgotten that Rio Rancho almost washed away last year when the monsoons came because of failure to plan?

Marty Chavez is a complete douchebag who will do anything increase his own power, and Mario is doing his best to try to give Marty the stacked City Counsel that he's angling for. That makes Mario a member of the Marty Party.

If you'll recall Hugo Chavez did the same thing with the legislature in Venezuela. By the transitive property of douchebagness I feel comfortable conflating Mario with Hugo and, therefore, Fidel Castro.

Gravatar Dan,

I can see by your messages that you have learned how to use a dictionary.
Please look up the word "etiquette." Any "sophomoric" poster can use gross language. But stating that Mario is a member of the Mayor's cheering section because he opines against the attributes of one candidate over the other could lead some to believe that you are "mendacious." Could it be possible that Mario sees two bad candidates and that Mario has concluded that one candidate is worst than the other? Reading just a few of Mario's posts would allow any logical person to conclude that latter point. If you want to have any credibility on the future, please stay off the offensive language.

Gravatar Your prudish reaction to (apparently?) the word 'douchebag' doesn't really concern me Nelson. Mario is a cheerleader for the GOP in general and Marty is a Republican in every sense except for name. These are attributes he shares with the candidates Mario is shaking his pom-poms for (Griffin and Martinez) and one he's attacking (De'Pascal.

Douchebag.

Gravatar Dan,
Whether or not you think that I am a prude (or anything else) has nothing to do with the discoussion. My guess is that you are under 30 years old. Maybe when you are older you will understand that clear, logical debates do not include name calling because it is a distractionary tactic that is used either because the user has run out of arguments in support of their premise or the user needs to obfuscate the user's lack of confidence in their premise. The result of the crude language is the same - it creates an emotional response rather than a reasoned discourse.

Back to your premise that the mayor is a Republican in Democrat's clothing. I still do not see the justification of a Republican mantle being placed on the mayor.

I think one of your subpremises is to the effect that "sometimes, you can't trust the party label that people aligned themselves with - Democrat or Republican." On this point, I agree with you. However it is apparent that your definition of a "Republican" is different than mine. I would guess that it is different than a lot of other people's as well.

Gravatar Marty is not a republican by a long shot.
