In Free New Mexican, Steve Terrell also says that Ken Schultz is a Democrat. Seems like we need to see some proof of your statement (as well as Terrell and Monahan needing to corroborate their clamim) before we know for sure. Why the rush to claim Ken Schultz? Very curious.
It also appears from the reporting I have read that these plea agreements were done during Iglesias' tenure. Which leads me to believe that the plea agreements were part of the case to nail the "big fish." Fraud cases are very intricate and require a lot of investigation and rock solid, properly gathered evidence. After reading the indictments it appears the Feds have done their homework.
Now with all that said, I hope that after a fair trail, these defendants are convicted and sent to prison. It would go a long way to restoring our faith in applying the law equally to all citizens regardless of their political connections, or lack thereof.

Though I'm not sure why you would wish to joyfully proclaim that one of those indicted is a Republican, everything I've seen so far has pointed that Schultz is a Dem.
The Terrell story, etc. Maybe he has changed parties since he was mayor of Albuquerque, but according to answer.com and wikipedia (I know, not exactly the most reliable source), he is listed as a Democrat.

Mario,
That may be the dumbest post you've done, athough I've only been coming to this site for a couple of weeks.
It takes time to build a case when plea agreements are part of the package. I just hope they took the time to make sure nobody walks.

Thank God that the Manny Aragon Pox on New Mexico politics has finally been addressed. He is a thug and will always be a thug.
The only person that did and could stand up to him was Gary Johnson. Bill Richardson bought him off and the taxpayers of New Mexico ended up with the bill.

Ridiculous, let me get this straight Mario. You're contending that Larry Gomez and AG King put this entire case together in 3 months and that the "gang that couldn't should straight" had nothing to do with the framework and foundation for this case? The case that the federal prosecutors will now be working with was built on the back of Iglesias. Let the wheels of spin continue.
You're attempt at positioning yourself as objective simply because you drop Ken Shultz's name is laughable. You're a partisan spin machine.

Monahan has this morning corrected himself, and acknowledged that Schultz is a registered Republican.
