If I have only read your note before I lent money to a good friend of mine. The relationship has changed and I wish I would have said no, but it is too late and I believe, our friendship is over. I did it before but in that case the person was the best friend of a relative and I knew this person was in trouble. I said to myself, I would never know if one day I would be in the same position. This person moved out of the area and never heard from it. In this case this friend is/was someone I though is a very good friend but since I lent money I haven't heard from his/her anymore and that really hurts.
