your thoughts are most welcome...

Gravatar I'm sure Jesus, being who he was, is and will always be, could have healed without touch but the fact that he so often used touch must tell us something.

That Holy Orders and other Sacraments and ministries come with the laying on of hands seems to me to carry a healing aspect. Good touch is like good silence.

Gravatar you have reminded me of something important . . .

Gravatar YA, Man!!! amen. I like this. Thanks for posting it.

Gravatar My massage therapist always says "thank you" at the end of the massage. Not after I've handed her a check, but while I'm still on the table, her hands on my head, not moving.

She does a lot of "energy work" and has commented that there is an exchange of energy between her and the client when she does massage. We absolutely experience a kind of shared existence through this interaction.

Gravatar Aw, that photo says it all :-)

Gravatar Yeah, I really like that photo. Sweet feet.

Gravatar Wow, what a nice thing, that you posted this on your blog site....it made my heart smile to discover it there! I especially liked the comments & feedback from your other connections & friends...all of them thought-provoking and genuine. We need more people like that in our lives. :)

Thanx for sharing all that you share w/the rest of us.

Gravatar Janet's comments makes me think of new age though ... I'm not intereted in energy to be really frank, but the healing power of God which I believe can be instigated by the faith of the person praying and the laying on of hands. But there is nothing magical about it - and so secret energy force.

God is interested in us in a holistic way - His desire is that we shall be whole again - and sinless because of what Jesus did, but that journey ends in heaven and much of our healing happens there in the presence of God.

I love the scripture that says He will wipe every tear away. For me that's complete healing and I long for it

Gravatar Who's to say that God doesn't sometimes touch us thru the touch of another human being? That one person's name for "healing" might be another person's name for "energy"? That perhaps it all translates to the presense of Love? Who's to say that some people aren't blessed the "gift" of healing, and it is shared w/another thru their hands? I have experienced this, myself, first hand, and it is often motivated by love, concern, affection, empathy or compassion. I agree w/you, but I also agree w/Janet. God's love is a mystery (secret? magical? beyond my comprehension, certainly); but I also believe that He has a plan for us in the here and now, and that our growth & healing is an ongoing, daily process...in this life, to be fully completed in the next one. His love can't be placed in a box - it's so much bigger than that. "Now, we see as thru a glass darkly..." we understand, in part; but then, we will understand fully. I long for this awakening.
