praying here pen, i too hold my breath whenever jake has pain. i just keep waiting for the "other shoe to drop"... it's so hard to watch them suffer and the remembrance of earlier suffering becomes so real again when they begin to hurt.
i just have to remind myself to b.r.e.a.t.h.e....

It hurts to get better.
That bit of bumper sticker theology comes from my spiritual director a long time ago when I was going through my own year of knee surgery and recovery and was in pain on and off for most of a year. The pain came and went and sometimes got worse when I was trying too hard, or just living.
So long as her Dr. says there is nothing to be concerned about, let go and let God take care. Be comfortable leaving it up to Him.
so, how did it go?
Praying for God's best for all of you. Try this one: in answer to all the negative "what if"s, say, "what if not". I fight my panic attacks with "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", saying it over and over with the emphasis on a different syllable.
You WILL make it through.
