Yes honesty is good, and so is discretion :) Beneath the surface, we're all, probably, rather messy.
It's prudent to be cautious. It's good you are communicating with someone somewhere. In fact, it may not ever be the "needful thing" to air these private matters before the world, wide, web. It was thoughtful of you to do a check in here for your online friends. God bless you.

I never knew I was capable of either but it turned out I was.
I went through a wretched time earlier this summer and chose not to blog about it because it could hurt some people close to me.
It is best to be safe than sorry. Sometimes silence is a beautiful thing, you do not wish to hurt those closest to you.

I think you are wise. There is much I share only with my sponsor, but I learned that was best the hard way. I trusted people (like a priest, for example) to hear with compassion what they could not possibly understand. Instead, I believe I was judged. There are "things" people will not an do not understand. If only we ALL chose compassion rather than judgment....
