The man cracks me up. It reminds me of the garden gnome that pops up everywhere on those commercials. People are bound to notice the book with that marketing strategy. |

Hey Thanks Guys, Unfortunately I wouldn't have got away with leaving the book everywhere on the first floor, but I thought you might find it amusing. The religion picture does kinda have a look of divination about it, don't it? |

So cool! And I put pics of your signing up at my blog, missy! |

Martha, What's the dealio with British publishers changing the title ever so slightly from the US version? I read a TON of Brit Lit, and sometimes see one of fave authors at B&N thinking they've written a new book, when only the title has been changed a bit. It's weird because CA does it too. |

Titles and covers and in some cases content are change from over here and there. It's what the evil publisher people call... marketing. Making the book the most accessible they can for you, the reader to purchase. They change a lot of books from here to make them more accessible to american folks... There was that age old publishing story about marketing the first Harry Potter book in America and changing the title to "...Sorcerer's Apprentice." because the publishers thought that the majority of people in America would not know what a philosopher was. Martha is very lucky because Orion has done a great job on her book over here and given it the first class PR push behind it we all hoped it would have. xx |

I LOVE the creative marketing. We need that in every book store. |

Hey, Martha. I just heard about your book and ordered a copy. I haven't heard from you or your sister in a long time. I miss you both. Love & luck on your book tour! |

Wow, lookit all these comments! Shannon L, Mark is so clever, isn't he? Mark, you rock, as always, LilMiss, I saw your pix... they are MUCH better than mine! FabGirlie, I am not sure, but I think they felt they would do better in the UK with the term "notebook" as "posse" is more a Western USA term. |
|
nope, as an UK girl i can safely say that most people in the UK know what 'posse' means! |
