I am a conservative and in order for a conservative to speak against gay marriage a conservative must say why. Here it is. States rights. I have heard very little from the conservative movement on this issue. We constantly say "socialism" but yet do not point our finger at what is socialist. Obama's agenda is socialist. Gay marriage state right. Homosexuals are not a protected class under the 14th amendment. Education, state right, pollution, state right. One can point at the EPA started by Nixon this shows that the republican party does move left. I believe our we as conservatives are missing out on the fact that the very first form of government was in fact a confederation. We need to address the local and state issues, fight at the national level.
