I hope something can be done for the 2000-3000 already locked away for life, let alone for the future children in this situation.

it seems Canada and the US need to meet some place in the middle. Criminals here whether juvenile or adult get way too little time or many times just a slap on the wrist.

I am glad that this is coming out into the open. I also saw articles about it in the Denver Post. It is a tragedy. I can't imagine punishing someone for, perhaps, 80 years for an act that they did as a teenager. Teenagers can't understand all of the repercussions for their actions yet. It is up to adults to support and teach them, not lock them up forever.
