So, what do YOU have to say?

Mr. Orwell said it best: In a socialist state, "Some animals are more equal than others." I doubt he knew then that he would be speaking of the PRM.

We had them before in Hyannis, where there actually ISN'T any public transportation.
They will not be welcome back. Until they pay for the hotel they broke.

Now now, be a bit more understanding. When you hang around Kennedys for 50+ years, some arrogance is bound to rub off.

Do you know if patrol staffing levels around the city were reduced because of this? If you don't, then I'm not exactly sure what you're whining about. If you do, then you've got a case. So I ask you: were patrol staffing levels reduced in Boston because of this?

CCFK, how about "Were the Officers Paid for thier services." If all these cops voulenteered thier time to ferry men around in thier patrol cars (oh don't forget gas for those 46.L V8s in those Crown Vics) when taxi and public transit could verywel have done the job (lord knows it's done well for me in Metro Boston) then we don't have a case.
But if City or State money was used for somthing this frivolus, yeah I think we have a beef.
And because Mumbles "Was not Aware" is the same "Was not Aware" that Deval Patrick said when it came out his Brother-in-Law never registered as a sex offender.
Translation: "Yeah it's wrong, what do I care?"

Reduced patrol staffing is only part of the equation here. Whether or not officers were pulled from duty to work these ridiculous "security" details or not, it's just more of the same - while Menino and the BPD brass continue pounding the drumbeat of blame, accusing the evil, uncaring Bush/Romney cartel for cutting funding for additional patrols on city streets, they're having no qualms, whatsoever, about shelling out thousands of taxpayer dollars to their own for crap like this.
It's inexcusable.
We're constantly being told the funds aren't there for beefing up patrols in Roxbury and Mattapan, yet shit liek this goes on as if there's nothing wrong with it.
It's total disregard for the responsible use of public funds - pretty much what defines the "Massachusetts Culture" today.

Well, I just finished reading the Herald's latest write-up on Cruisergate.
Taxigate? Limogate? Shuttle Scuttle?
Sorry, nothing's exactly rolling off ther tip of my tongue this morning. I'll just refer to it as "clusterfuck", I suppose.
Doesn't look good, people.
Of course, or fearless leader, Mumbles, had no comment.
Post forthcoming.

the police chiefs appear to be chauffeured around in rented minivans with either one or two uniformed officers driving. you can see the minivans parked around the hotels, all with radios, waiting for the call to drive to the front of the hotel to pick up a passenger. assuming each minivan costs $100.00 a day, 100 minivans will cost $10,000 a day. If the police chiefs convention lasts five, days, that's $50,000 for rental cars. probably not a lot of money, compared to all the other corruption and waste in Boston, but still, a poor use of the taxpayer's money.

The cops working "forced overtime" to fill in for the cops who were pulled from their regular shift to play chaffeur are gonna run the city more than $100 a day.
And, what about the hard-working immigrants trying to make a living working as bellhops in these hotels, lugging tourists' suitacses around? Does Mumbles have any concern about taking their work away from them and handing it to otherwise gainfully employed police officers?
Seems not.
And what about the immigrant's CHILDREN!!!!
Oh,the humanity!
