My problem is forgetting my badge. I keep it in my laptop bag I normally carry to work, but when I bike commute, I have to remember to move it to my pannier.
I used to get all the way down three flights of stairs and about to unlock my bike when I'd realize I'd left my bike-lock keys upstairs! So, I just keep my bike key on my regular keychain every single day-- I can't possibly leave home without my house keys, so as long as my bike keys are attached to those, I'm sure to have them whenever I need them.

You realise the easy solution? Do as car owners do. Lock the thing when you get home.
An unnecessary gesture perhaps, but you won't forget your keys again.
