This using dd or other such tools. I won't argue which is correct usage.<br><br>Also be mindful of the ISO-9660 extensions that are selected and used to generate transportable media. Some platforms expect or ignore certain sets of extensions to ISO-9660:1988, or do or do not support ISO-9660:1999. In particular, the Joliet, Rock Ridge and HFS extensions may or may not be supported. And if your target platform cannot access Joliet or Rock Ridge, then that introduces constraints on the file names that can be chosen.<br><br>I won't get into dual-format disks where there are two separate file structures on one disk, but that too is explicitly possible with ISO-9660.<br><br>And thank you for the article.<br /><span class=\"byline\" style=\"font-family:Tahoma; font-size:11px; color:#666; text-align:right;\"> Stephen Hoffman | <a href=\"http://www.hoffmanlabs.com\" title=\"http://www.hoffmanlabs.com\">Homepage</a> | 01.31.09 - 3:58 pm | <a href=\"#124231\" title=\"Link to this comment\">#</a></span></p></td></tr><tr><td class=\"MessageCell\" bgcolor=\"#EBEBEB\" style=\"border:1px solid #ccc;\"> <a name=\"124232\"></a> <p><img src=\"http://www.gravatar.com/avatar.php?gravatar_id=66feb6c525f01fc7d617fd70d38f6633&amp;default=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.macosxtips.co.uk%2Fgravatar.png&amp;rating=PG&amp;size=60\" alt=\"Gravatar\" title=\"Gravatar\" style=\"padding: 1px; margin: 2px; float: right;\" class=\"gravatar\" />@Stephen<br><br>Thanks for the info.
