'enry the VIIIth I am I am
I got married to the widow next door
She's been married seven times before...

sing with me!

Gravatar Gotta love Tom.

Tracked back at: http://mommythedre.blogspot.com/...hese- blogs.html

Gravatar Speaking of songs, that last line of yours ___I am saying, "Muurder? Adultery? Divorce/Remarriage?.......talk about a great line for a Country Western song! "I's been a cheat'in on ya baby cause nobody told me it was wrong" or " I got short changed by the preacher, and I'm pay'in for it now"

I have Catholic friends that actually get up set with me when I say something that pertains to the Church, and conflicts with thier life style. They really do look at it as, If they don't know about it, it doesn't count. So don't tell them.

Gravatar So what's Mahony's excuse?

Lack of adequate tutelage in criminal law and/or civil-damages niceties?

Gravatar Tom - Aaargh, now I have that song stuck in my head. LOL

Amy - Hey Amy, thanks for posting this bit of breaking news on your blog. Do you have Haloscan? It makes the trackbacking thing real easy.

Lucy - Why don't you have a blog yet? You could post some of those C&W songs on there for us.

Dad29 - Thanks for dropping by. I think Mahony would fall under all those who have been catechized after the first century.

God bless, Maureen Martin

Gravatar Lucy, I'd bet that it's already written and recorded out there somewhere

Gravatar Hold the press! Are you saying it is our own responsibility to seek understanding of our faith?
Remarkable!!!

Great post as always, Maureen!

Gravatar Great stuff!

Gravatar The funny thing is that King Henry VIII actually got that title for writing "Defence of the Seven Sacraments" a polemic against Protestantism. I don't know if he ever updated it later to be called "Defence of the Six Sacraments" with marriage lopped off (he had a thing about lopping things off.)

Gravatar Hey Veronica - Good to see ya.

Jordan, PR - Thanks!

Jeff - LOL. Maybe it was really his PR experts who wrote the Defense.

God bless, Maureen

Gravatar Actually I believe it was Thomas More that ghost wrote the defense, epecially since he was also the one who wrote the followup to it when Martin Luther responded.

I guess the one way to keep a ghost writer the silent author is to ensure he becomes a ghost.

Gravatar Jeff - Hey, is that really true about TM? That figures. I bet St. Thomas More would get (or maybe is getting) a kick out of your joke. What else would you expect from a guy who tells jokes before he is about to get his head cut off?

God bless, Maureen

Gravatar Maureen, I know nothing about how this HTML stuff works. Is haloscan hard to use? Is it free? I just know I have a devil of a time with the trackback. Anyone who can help, please email!

Gravatar Hey Amy,

Yeah, Haloscan is free and fairly easy to use. I am not technically-minded at all, but it wasn't too hard. I didn't mean to make you feel like you have to get it. *g* It's sort of fun, because you can ping people, and they ping you. What you did in the comments is fine.

Oh, I am going out of town this weekend. Please pray I make it there safe and back.

God bless, Maureen

Gravatar Hey Maureen,
I went over there and did it. It was easy. I don't know what pinging is, but I'm sure someone will tell me.

Praying for ya Have a great trip!

Gravatar OK, someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think pinging and trackbacking somebody are the same thing.

Thanks, Amy!

God bless, Maureen
